GaDOE announces 2026 AP Honor Schools

The Georgia Department of Education and State Superintendent Richard Woods named Loganville High, Monroe Area High, and Walnut Grove High Schools 2026 Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Schools.

“I’m incredibly proud of our three high schools for earning this recognition for their Advanced Placement programs,” said Superintendent Chip Underwood. “These accomplishments speak to the hard work and commitment of our teachers, administrators, and students. Our staff continues to create opportunities that challenge and support students at a high level, and our students continue to rise to the occasion. Their dedication to academic excellence is preparing them for success long after graduation, and that’s something our entire community can celebrate.”

Based on the AP exam performance of last year’s graduates, 316 schools from 110 school districts were recognized as AP Honor Schools in 2026. The College Board’s AP program allows students to challenge themselves while exploring their interests and earning college credit through rigorous college-level work in high school.

AP Honor School Recognitions

AP Access and Support Schools – Loganville High School and Monroe Area High School
Schools with at least 30% of AP exams taken by students who identified as African American and/or Hispanic (minimum of 16 students) and 30% of all AP exams earning scores of 3 or higher. At least 25 exams must be administered.

AP Humanities Schools – Loganville High School and Walnut Grove High School
Schools with at least five exams administered in each of the following AP categories: one ELA course, two social studies courses, one fine arts course, and one world language course, and a minimum of 25 total exams administered.
AP Humanities Achievement Schools – Loganville High School and Walnut Grove High School
Schools with at least 50% of all AP Humanities exams earning scores of 3 or higher.

AP STEM Schools – Loganville High School, Monroe Area High School, and Walnut Grove High School
Schools with a minimum of five students testing in at least four AP STEM courses (including AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C, AP Computer Science A, and AP Computer Science Principles), and a minimum of 25 exams administered.

AP STEM Achievement Schools – Loganville High School and Walnut Grove High School
AP STEM schools with at least 50% of all AP STEM exams earning scores of 3 or higher.
