Board Unanimously Approves Dr. Ryan Clark as Walker Park Elementary School Principal

At its recent board meeting, the Walton County Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Ryan Clark as the next principal of Walker Park Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Clark to the Walton County School District,” said Superintendent Chip Underwood. “Dr. Clark has experience leading at both school and district levels, having served as a principal and district safety coordinator. His background will serve him well as he works with the students, staff, and families of Walker Park Elementary School. We look forward to the leadership he will bring to the school.”

Dr. Clark started his career in education as an elementary teacher in Social Circle City Schools and Athens-Clarke County Schools. He later worked as an instructional coach in math, science, and technology, supporting teachers and enhancing instruction across grade levels. Additionally, he served as the assistant principal at Social Circle Elementary School.

He currently serves as the principal of Social Circle Middle School and as the district safety coordinator for Social Circle City Schools. In these roles, he leads efforts focused on academic achievement, student safety, and school operations, while also supporting district-level planning and coordination.

Dr. Clark holds a doctoral degree in education from Northcentral University, a specialist degree in elementary education from the University of West Alabama, a master’s degree in education from the University of Phoenix, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia.

“I am honored to serve the students and families of Walker Park Elementary School,” said Dr. Clark. “I look forward to getting to know the school community and building on the solid foundation already in place. As Nelson Mandela said, ‘It always seems impossible until it’s done.’ That mindset will guide our efforts as we continue to support student learning, strengthen instruction, and create opportunities for every child to succeed.”
